An Elegant Atlanta Wedding at Summerour Studio
Atlanta, Georgia
Megan + Jack
There's something about a wedding rooted in intention, in every detail chosen with care, every moment savored before it passes, that just stays with you. Megan and Jack’s wedding day was exactly that kind of day. From the quiet morning moments at the Four Seasons to a reception that had every guest filling up the dance floor, this was a celebration done beautifully and done right. If you've been dreaming of an elegant Atlanta wedding at Summerour Studio, consider this your sign.
Getting Ready At The Four Seasons Atlanta
The morning of the wedding, Megan and her bridesmaids settled into the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta, and honestly, it set the tone perfectly. Airy, luxurious, and calm is how I would describe this morning. Meg's hair was styled by Beauty by Breland, and her makeup was flawlessly executed by Sarah Parker Beauty. The result? A bride who looked effortlessly radiant and glowing in the way that only happens when you're marrying your person, surrounded by your favorite women. Meanwhile, Jack and his groomsmen kept it casual and easy at a nearby Airbnb, doing what groomsmen do.
Meg’s First Look with Dad and Bridesmaids
Meg made a choice that more brides should know is on the table: she did her first look with her dad and bridesmaids. Meg chose not to do a first look with Jack, and the reasons behind that decision are worth talking about.
For some couples, the church aisle reveal is sacred. It's the one moment that hasn't been rehearsed or pre-felt. When Meg chose to hold that moment for the ceremony, she was preserving the full weight of it. The collective breath of a room, the tears her dad and her girls got to witness before Jack ever saw her. Doing a first look with your wedding party and father is a way to ground yourself emotionally before the ceremony, without giving away that final reveal. You get to be present with the people who raised you and stood beside you, and still experience the magic of your partner seeing you for the first time at the altar. It's truly the best of both worlds, and Meg's approach made for some breathtaking, authentic moments before the day even really began.
A Beautiful Church Ceremony in Atlanta
Megan and Jack exchanged their vows at the stunning Cathedral of Christ the King, here in Atlanta. The cathedral's soaring ceilings, rich architecture, and timeless grandeur made for a stunning ceremony backdrop. There is something about committing your life to someone inside a space that has witnessed countless such promises; it adds a layer of reverence that's hard to replicate anywhere else.
From there, the wedding party and guests made their way to one of my favorite Atlanta wedding venues.
Meg and Jack’s Elegant Atlanta Wedding at Summerour Studio
If you're planning an Atlanta wedding and Summerour Studio isn't on your list, it needs to be. Nestled in the heart of Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood, Summerour Studio is a 10,000+ square foot converted industrial space that manages to feel both raw and refined at the same time. With its soaring ceilings, exposed steel beams, original hardwood floors, and stunning windows that flood the space with natural light, Summerour is the kind of venue that photographs like a dream from every angle. Summerour Studio is known as the “tucked away Tuscan-inspired gem,” and I couldn’t agree more.
Couples choose Summerour for a reason, or rather, many reasons. The venue is entirely customizable, which means it bends to your vision rather than forcing you into a cookie-cutter setup. Whether you're going ultra-modern, garden-romantic, or like Megan, whites and golds with a minimalist editorial edge, the space holds it all with grace. The layout allows for a seamless flow from cocktail hour to reception, with enough square footage that the room never feels crowded, even when it's full of life. It's also a blank-canvas venue in the truest sense: the bones are beautiful, and everything layered on top just elevates an already stunning foundation.
Portraits at summerour studio
After the ceremony, Megan and Jack took full advantage of everything Summerour has to offer as a backdrop. From the dramatic windows casting the perfect light across the tiled floors, to escaping to the garden courtyard, an absolute dream, the space is genuinely a photographer's playground.
The Details: Florals, Décor, and A Classic Wedding Theme
Megan's wedding palette was whites, golds, and a hint of dark red, and it was executed with such intention and elegance that it never tipped into overdone. The florals were handled by BLOSM Design, whose minimalistic approach to white blooms and lush greenery was absolutely perfect for Summerour's aesthetic. Nothing competed with the space because everything worked with it.
The linen signage throughout the reception space added a consistent, elevated design thread that felt intentional without being overdone. It's the kind of detail that guests might not consciously notice, but would absolutely feel. All of this was brought together seamlessly by Emily Caster of Mosaic Weddings, whose thoughtful planning and design eye were evident in every corner of the day.
Cocktail & Reception at Summerour Studio
Guests were welcomed into a hybrid indoor/outdoor-style cocktail hour at Summerour, drinks in hand and energy building. By the time the reception was in full swing, the room had the kind of warmth that only comes from a night that's been planned with genuine love and care. Instead of cake cutting, Meg and Jack chose to have a cannoli bar (thanks to Flame and Flavor), which made for something entirely unique in place of a traditional cake cutting. It was fun, the pictures turned out great, and I may have snuck a cannoli.
And then the dance floor happened. DJ Dez with DJ Profound Sounds absolutely delivered, the kind of DJ who reads a room, builds momentum, and doesn't let it drop. By the end of the night, no one was sitting down. The dance floor was full, the energy was electric, and it was the perfect send-off for Megan and Jack into their new chapter together.
The Meyerhoff wedding was one of those days that remind me, as an Atlanta wedding photographer, why weddings done with intention and heart are worth every bit of the planning that goes into them. Every moment of Megan and Jack’s day was thoughtful, beautiful, and completely them.
Congratulations, Megan and Jack. Here's to a lifetime as good as that dance floor.
